Safety and Standards
At ReWell, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is delivered with clear protocols, trained oversight, and strict standards — so you can feel confident from the moment you arrive.
Safety Comes First at ReWell
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a well-established therapy — but it must be administered with the right safeguards.
At ReWell, safety isn’t a “tick box”. It’s built into our systems, our environment and how we guide every client through treatment. From screening and set-up to monitoring and chamber care, we follow structured procedures designed to support safe, consistent sessions.
Why Safety Matters in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
HBOT involves increased atmospheric pressure and elevated oxygen levels. In this environment:
- Fire risk can increase
- Some materials and devices become unsuitable
- Battery-powered electronics can pose avoidable hazards
Even small ignition sources can escalate quickly in an oxygen-enriched, pressurised space - which is why strict control of what goes in the chamber (and how sessions are run) matters.
Electronics & Lithium-Ion Devices: What You Need to Know
Mobile phones, smartwatches, earbuds, tablets and other lithium-ion battery devices are not permitted inside the chamber.
While these devices are generally safe in daily life, in a pressurised environment the risk profile changes. For safety, we maintain a strict “no battery devices” policy during treatment.
ReWell’s Safety Leadership & Operating Standards
Certified Training & Oversight
Our team follows structured operational procedures and is trained in safe chamber set-up, oxygen safety, and best-practice session monitoring.
Ongoing Professional Development
HBOT standards evolve as equipment and guidelines develop. We stay aligned with current best practice and continuously refine our procedures.
Clear Emergency Procedures
We maintain documented emergency processes and ensure staff are prepared to respond quickly and calmly if needed.
Equipment-Specific Protocols
Each chamber system is operated according to manufacturer specifications, including defined procedures for: setup and shutdown, monitoring during sessions, cleaning and maintenance and safe use guidance for clients (including home use where applicable)
Strict Exclusions for Unsafe Materials
To minimise risk in oxygen-enriched environments, we enforce clear exclusions — including battery devices and any materials not appropriate for use during HBOT.
